Thanks to television series that have become a part of popular culture and thanks to reality fashion shows, designer shoes are more hot than ever. Designer name brands that are hard to pronounce and that once were in the realm of women referred to as 'well-heeled' are now desired by the masses. Most women want the ultra fashionable looks that are being worn in New York, or in Beverly Hills. However, since these brands are new to many women, it's important that they understand how to pick out just the right type of shoe for their needs.

Some women make the mistake of selecting a shoe simply because they like the shoe or the brand. However, they end up with an expensive pair of shoes that don't match anything that they own. Or, these women wear the wrong pair of shoes at the wrong times or during the wrong occasions. When this happens, the woman will end up looking cheap or inexperienced about fashion, no matter how expensive her shoes are. To avoid this, here are some things to consider when picking out designer shoes.

With regards to selecting a designer shoe, there are aspects of the shoe that a woman should look for and expect. First, she needs to understand that the shoes cost so much not because of the name necessarily, but because the shoe is made with the best craftsmanship and out of the best materials. A woman should expect that her shoes will be comfortable and fit well. Yes, even heels should have some degree of comfort because the stitching will be done right, and the material being used is premium.

These shoes are made from quality pieces of leather, or fabric. One should never feel the pinch of plastic or of vinyl when they wear these shoes. One should also expect for any buckles and stitches to stay in place, and not fall apart or unravel.

There shouldn't be too many pieces glued together, if at all. The soles of the shoes should be lined up uniform on the bottom of the shoe. One should not see dots of glue peeking out from the seams. If a woman studies a designer shoe, she'll notice these fine details differ from a less expensive or poorly made shoe.

It's important for a woman to make sure that no matter how expensive her shoe is, she's not wearing the wrong type of shoe for her body type. She should also make sure that she's not wearing the wrong shoes for the wrong occasion. For example, sky-high stilettos should never be worn to work. Neither should a funky clunky-heeled shoe with busy patterns, or glitter. These shoes are best for a night out, particularly on the weekend.

A woman needs to consider the lines of her dress and skirt, as well as their lengths, when she's considering what type of shoes to wear. If she is a heavier woman, then she needs to pay special attention to the style of shoes that she wears. The wrong shoes can look too tiny on her feet. Balance is key, and she should wear a shoe that makes her look more lengthy and becoming.

It's very important that no matter what name brand of designer shoes are popular, a woman needs to make sure that she's not going to cause herself physical harm by wearing them. If a woman has back issues, leg and ankle issues, or if she has bunions, then she needs to make sure that she isn't selecting a shoe that is going to aggravate her health issues.

Finally, if a woman wants to buy designer shoes at a discount, then there are a variety of methods to do so. Many designers sell shoes online. They often will sell shoes on clearance/sale when they are trying to get rid of last seasons shoes, in order to make room for the new season of shoes. There are online outlet stores as well.
