We often talk about the grind of daily life and how hard it is, but we really should appreciate that most us in the western world have a lot to be thankful for. Here are a few simple pleasures to enjoy today.

Waking Up Next To A Loved One

It sounds so simple but is something we often take for granted. Waking up to someone you love is surely the best start to the day and one we should enjoy, even if we have to get out of bed very quickly as we dash past them for the shower!

Dinners Outside

Admittedly this can be something we only really do in the summer, but by using canopies or shades we can extend that time still a little bit further so that intense sun or some rain doesn't spoil the enjoyment we can take from eating al fresco. Of course, the company can always make a meal, so don't dwell too long on the surroundings or the food and engage in the conversation.

Seeing Your Family

Often when adults have their parents round to stay it can feel like a chore, after all you have to entertain them, run around after them and they never really understand the transport system of your area. Furthermore some can be prone to some, shall we say, dated, opinions on origin or gender.

However, it's important to remember too that these people ran around after you for the best part of two decades, ensuring that you were always well fed and had clothes on your back and toys to play with. They've still got a lot to offer in terms of opinion, and just because it doesn't necessarily mirror your own there's still a chance you could learn something from them.

Playing Sport

Many of us choose not to exercise, siting the weather or bad fitness levels or health as an excuse, but for many people playing sport - whether it be a more popular one like football or tennis, or a minority one such as sailing or triathlon - is a real highlight of their day. Not only do you get a huge endorphin rush but you also get the chance to compete and win against another person, a test many of us enjoy.

So daily life isn't all doom and gloom - there's plenty to perk yourself up about and look forward to every day of your life. Just remember
