Wouldn't it be nice to learn how to stop the anxiety that you feel which is associated with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder? Well now you can learn how to start doing this right now!
Here are some of the things that I think will really help you in your desire to stop the anxiety you feel. One thing that you can do right away is identify what is causing you stress.
One of the most stressful things about stress is not knowing where it came from in the first place. Most of the time, if you can identify where your stress did come from, you will be able to address it head on.
Another thing that you can do is to make sure that you get good rest. Most people get far less sleep then they should. This is a problem. One thing you can do to get more sleep is to workout sometime during the day.
Another way to get more natural help from your body is to eat right. This will allow your cells to have all the nutrients they need to operate at their best level.
You can also pray. Most people know that they have a soul and yet they do not address this part of themselves, that is such a waste. I believe that we should acknowledge our spirits.
So how can we address this spiritual need? We can read scripture, especially the parts of encouragement. We can listen to our favorite music. Do something and think of something that brings you good feelings.
When you feel better about yourself, you are able to handle a lot more of everything. When you feel good, it is actually more healthy for you! So make every effort that you can to be happy.
We can see already from above how this is true and that these steps will help your body to naturally be more able to control our anxiety.
Now what we need are some techniques to stop the anxiety. What are some of the things that we can do? We can use identification. Tell yourself that this is just anxiety.
Then we can use distraction. You can't be nervous about something you are not thinking about either conscious or subconsciously. If you distract yourself, like listen to a joke and laugh, when you are laughing, you are not having anxiety.
I want you to understand that when we associate a strong emotion with a thought, it gives it higher priority in our minds. When this happens, we get over obsessive over thoughts others would just shrug off.
It is critical at the moment when you have a thought that bothers you, you can say that it is just an OCD thought and that you are not going to react with fear to it.
