If you like Country Walks then you'll find over 2000 kms of trails here in the Chiltern Hills and also Horse Riding is a great way to explore this beautiful region.

Then if you love Adventure like mountain biking to rock climbing, scuba diving, driving a train or just kite flying then you are welcome here.

With the Hills, the River Thames and thousands of miles of footpaths, bridleways and cycle routs, the Chilterns is a great place for active families.

For all your travel requirements through out the British Isles you can go to a tourist information center and get the maps, guides, postcards and stamps for the local area.

There is always something or other to do in Chilterns' open spaces - have a family picnic, go on a fitness or orienteering trail, play wild games, watch the birds or just get some fresh air.

There are also the swimming pools in all the towns of the county like the Swan Pool in the town of Buckingham.

In Chiltern Hills you can enjoy the natural beauty with an unspoilt area of rolling chalk hills, magnificent beech woods, quiet valleys and flint villages. A wonderful mosaic of woods, fields, hedges sunken lanes and clear streams.

The beautiful landscapes of the Chilterns offers its visitors a wealth of attractions to experience.

There are many ways to spend an enjoyable day, from picnicking to stunning viewpoints to visiting one of the historic houses.

There are many animal attractions in the Chilterns, from rare breeds farms to the famous Whipsnade Wild Animal Park. There's a collection of birds, horses, meads, Odds Breeding Farm, Wildlife Hospital and Exotic animal collection in beautiful parkland.

The Chilterns are also famous for its beautiful bluebell woods which contain stunning swathes of bluebells from late April to mid May.

You can also visit many breweries and vineyards in the Chiltern Hills to see local beers and wines being made. You can purchase them if you like.

Pitsone Windmill is believed to be the oldest windmill in Britain dating back to at least 1627.

The Chilterns are blessed with very fine historic houses and gardens. Over the centuries the proximity of the area to London made it an obvious place for wealthy families to build or acquire county properties. Many of the houses and gardens are open to public.

The Chilterns has a vast variety of wildlife and this is recognized through the nature reserves that have been set up protecting areas of national and local importance.

You can also enjoy the stunning displays in the beech woods in spring , a myriad of flowers covering the chalk grasslands in the summer and spectacular red kites gliding over the Chiltern hills in winter and autumn.

There are opportunities for a fascinating day out at a number of museums in the Chiltern area. Everything from historic places to exhibitions around the river Thames.
