Soccer is not a massively popular sport in America. However, that does not mean that the bar game variety of it is unpopular. Most people would love to invest in a foosball table. This type of game is usually found in bars around the globe, with people often choosing the pinball fast diversion over other popular things like pool and darts.

This game takes its genesis from soccer, placing a team of static players on moveable poles which can be dragged to and fro across the length of the pitch. A lightweight ball is placed in the gaming area and people strive to score goals with their team. This is done by flicking the poles so that the stationary players appear to 'kick' the ball into the net.

The sport is incredibly fast paced. Some of the best professional players have been able to move the ball at 35 miles per hour. The bonhomie of the game is something that people are exceptionally happy to involve themselves in, and it is responsible for breaking down barriers between people.

The game that many people today know and love is several decades old. Harold Searles Thornton invented this version in 1921, and was patented two years later. It began appearing in bars across the world soon after, and people were hooked. Initially, it was a tiny scale game played on a matchbox.

Thornton's uncle, who was travelling over to the United Kingdom, saw the game and decided to export it to the United States. This was officially patented in 1927, and has increased in popularity every since. People now race towards popular diversions such as this in bars and taverns across the country.

Table football is immensely popular across the globe. People are finding increasingly that they do not want to have to go to bars alone in order to play it. They want to be able to enjoy a game wherever they are.

This includes in people's homes. Rumpus rooms around the country are being filled with these pieces of furniture in all sizes. At parties or even just as a way to wind down after work, the game is being broken out and played.

A foosball table is something people enjoy greatly. Now, thanks to good retailers, it is possible to find one and buy it to play in one's own home. The excitement of the sport has become commonplace for all people.
