Making homemade doughnuts from a homemade doughnut recipe is not as difficult as it seems. The only real hardware you need is a deep fryer. There are two main types of doughnuts, the ones that leavened, or raised with yeast, and those that are leavened with baking powder or baking soda. There are differences in these two types, but also very tasty.

Preparing this homemade treat will not only make those kids excited and happy but as well as those young at hearts. It is more appetizing if you will pair them with your favorite hot or cold drinks. You can have them during breakfast or even while driving. These kind of treats are so great and satisfying as well.

Tips for Perfect Homemade Doughnut Recipe

There are a few tricks and tips to help you achieve the perfect doughnut:

Make sure the oil is hot, 370 degrees works best for me. Do not overfill the fryer. Fry only three or four at a time. Flip donuts; make sure that each side is golden brown Use soft dough possible. Refrigerate to keep it workable. Use clean oil Let donuts ready to drain into the deep fryer for a few minutes before removing their drain on absorbent paper Use a ring cutter to right movement, without twisting.

Homemade doughnut recipe

This is the easiest and simplest homemade doughnut recipe that I have. I use it over and over again, varying it with different topping and icings.

5 1/2 cup flour

5 teaspoon baking powder

2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg

Pinch of salt

3 eggs

1 ½ c sugar

3 Tbs unsalted butter, melted

2 c milk

2 tsp vanilla

Sift together dry ingredients. Beat eggs with sugar until light. Add butter, sweet, and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and mix until a soft dough is formed. No more mix. If dough is too soft to roll, chill for an hour. Roll dough out 3 / 8 inch thick on floured surface and cut with a circular cutter. Fry in 370 degree oil until golden brown on both sides, turning once. Remove from oil, power over the hot oil for a few minutes to drain, then finish draining on filter paper. While still warm shake of sugar, sugar-cinnamon mixture, dip in glaze of choice, or dust with powdered sugar.
