Vegan donuts are actually one of the most in demand flavors of donut treats in the market today. There are actually lots of bakeshops and even bakeries offering vegan donuts to their clients. Kids actually love these treats even they know that these sweets have veggies on it. The fact is that the taste of the vegetables did not affect the taste of this delicacy. Usually you will find vegetables such as potatoes and lentils on this treat. These will not only add up more flavors but it can actually even make the dough more moist and gooey.

Let me share with a simple vegan donut recipe.

1 package. active dry yeast

11/2 cup lukewarm water,separated

1/8 cup vegetable shortening

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup soy milk, warmed

Egg replacer, equivalent to 3 eggs

5 cups flour, plus more for flouring

A pinch of salt

1 1/2 tsp. mace

Oil for deep frying

1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar

1 cup hot water

Dissolve yeast in 1 / 2 cups warm water and let it stand for 5 minutes. In a saucepan, bring remaining 1 / 2 cup warm water to a boil. Add the reduction of plant and sugar and stir until they dissolve. Pour the mixture into a bowl and allow to cool. Add yeast mixture and soy milk. Mix in egg substitute, 2 cups flour, salt, and mace.

Add the remaining flour, little by little to make a soft dough. Knead dough on a lightly floured surface until it is smooth, place it in a greased bowl, cover it and let it rise for about an hour or until it doubles in size. Punch dough down. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough until it is about 1/2-inch thick. Use a ring cutter to cut dough pieces to place on waxed paper and let them rise for an hour.

In a frying pan or deep fryer, heat oil to 370 ° F. Fry a few donuts at the time, leaving them in oil until golden brown. Place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Mix confectioners' sugar and hot water in a shallow bowl. While the donuts are still warm, dip them into glaze and then place them on wax paper. Allow glaze to dry, then serve donuts immediately.
