If you suffer from being overweight then you need to read this article.

It's no great secret that we are currently facing higher levels of obesity and morbid obesity that at any other time since records began. Government's world wide are implementing weight loss campaigns and investing millions of pounds into raising weight loss awareness. Education departments have shifted towards providing healthy meals in schools and increased education about the health risks of eating the wrong type of foods and the related health problems associated with being overweight.

While this course of action is a noble cause, it doesn't address the needs of millions of people who are already overweight, obese or morbidly obese. Many people in these three categories have frequently spent a lifetime of physical and psychological pain and suffering due to being overweight.

Their levels of self esteem and confidence are often at rock bottom. Most have tried every type of diet imaginable, only to fail long term. If this is you, then real medical help is at hand. Gastric band surgery, or to use the correct medical phrase, laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding is the latest banding surgery which offers overweight people the chance to take back control of their lives at an affordable price by managing their weight loss in a very clinical way.

While weight loss stomach surgery is not exactly a new procedure it is worth outlining the difference between conventional gastric bypass surgery and the latest laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding surgery which is often abbreviated by patients to banding surgery or band surgery. Both procedures are very different and the gastric bypass surgery risks will be very different to laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding surgery risks.

Gastric bypass surgery is a much more radical weight loss stomach surgery procedure than laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding. Therefore the operation for banding surgery is a lot less invasive. Band after care is quite minimal and not too uncomfortable. It is worth mentioning that many of the success stories relating to banding surgery patients are attributed to the change in lifestyle which is only achieved after the band weight loss stomach surgery.

One should also note that post band surgery patients require band fills provided in an after care location which can consist of 1 to 6 band fills. This is a quick and painless procedure which consists of the gastric surgeon weighing you before injecting you through your abdomen directly into the band.

Gastric bands vary for each laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding surgery procedure and each laparoscopic gastric surgeon uses whichever one of the various gastric bands is most suitable for the patient. Each band has obviously passed rigorous medical compliance issues but as mentioned it is generally the surgeons choice of which one of the gastric bands to choose.

You are not alone. Many people suffer from some, or all of the above problems. Sadly most suffer in silence battling against inner turmoil and impossible to achieve weight loss fad diets.

The good news is you can now do something that really works. Gastric surgery is set to explode throughout the world with the same kind of intensity as Laser Eye surgery. Governments around the western world have been warning citizens about the risks associated with being overweight. Some governments have expressed grave concerns about the huge increase in morbid obesity.

General Practitioners and regional doctors across Europe are implementing schemes to promote healthy eating. Schools have taken high fats meals off their daily menus. Sadly this doesn't help the thousands of morbidly obese people who have struggled for years to reduce weight.

Most overweight people also struggle with psychological issues as a direct result of being overweight. Fear of meeting new people, agoraphobia, refusing to take holidays are all realistic side effects of being overweight.

In the UK the National Health Service pays for some patients to have band surgery. Unfortunately most UK regions are administered by Medical Trusts and they simply refuse band surgery for most overweight patients.

Many prospective band surgery patients are turning to online forums seeking answers to questions like, what are the gastric bypass surgery before and after issues, and gastric bypass surgery before and after problems.

Another frequently searched for answer is, how much gastric band costs. After my extensive research and many long hours trawling the internet, it appears that a very, very high percentage of band surgery patients are overjoyed with their laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding procedure. Many comment they wish they had the procedure years ago.

Another startling fact I uncovered was that, many patients who have had band surgery are very vocal about the success of their procedure, and are recommending it to their friends and associates.

Always remember there is a distinct difference between gastric bypass surgery and band surgery - laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding. The procedures require two completely different medical operations. The cost of gastric bypass surgery is often twice as much as the more affordable gastric banding surgery. Gastric bypass surgery risks are higher, although one should never forget that all gastric surgery and laparoscopic gastric surgery procedures carry some risks.

As long as people are overweight there will always be a requirement for some form of gastric surgery or laparoscopic gastric surgery. Due to its affordable costs band surgery looks set to be the next medical revolution for overweight, obese and morbidly obese people.
