Ferrets as you know are the third most popular pets in N. America. This makes me wonder why the super stores (not mentioning any names) don’t carry beds for ferret. As a ferret owner, I know I spend more on pet beds then the typical pet owner spends their pet’s beds, most may buy one every couple of years if at all. I guess it is because beds are a necessity for ferret and they are not just purchased on a whim like for other pets.

Of course the natural habitat for a ferret to sleep in is a closed in area, comfortable, dark and confined where they would feel safe. That is why it is only natural for ferrets to look for a place to tuck into and hide in. If you do not have a hammock or tent you could throw a ski cap in your ferrets cage or some towels for them to crawl under, but we are here to talk about store bought type ferret beds write know.

Ferret beds—hammocks:

With this type of bed you can make the most of your cage and use dead air space. They are typically designed to hang from the top of the cage about 12 to 18 inches down and comes in a multitude of colors. Usually the Hammocks are very durable and most are lined with man-made lamb’s wool for comfort.

Ferret beds—Tents and Lodges:

The Sleep Tent I have provides my ferret with a cozy place to sleep, or a fun place for hiding out at playtime. The Cozy material makes this a super comfy tent. When it's closed, it is a fun hideout tent, when open, it's a cozy hammock. That means you get two beds for the price of one, all this for your precious ferrets.

You could also look into a ferret lodge, my ferrets love the lodges they just lounge around in and hang out together it is a place your ferrets can relax in with four doors they have a lot of options to come and go. This Material that covers the tent is soft it has an artificial lambs wool floor for your ferrets comfort. I have seen some of these hold as many as eight ferrets. You can imagine how much fun your ferrets will have in these and they can be used inside or outside of your pet's cage.

Ferret beds—sacks:

The Sleep Sack is a definite must-have accessory for your ferrets. It is one of the most common inside the cage and gives your ferret total relaxation. It can also work well outside of the cage. The Sleep Sack shells are very durable and most are lined with man-made lamb’s wool for comfort.

So whichever bed you choose for your ferret make sure it will meet their basic primal needs. Don’t forget you can be thrifty and if you see a sleeper that you can picture in a homemade version, go for it. Just remember their safety should come first, nothing should dangle, no rhinestone type of things attached and wash it in a mild detergent with no fabric softeners because ferrets have sensitive skin.
