Nurses are the direct caregivers to the patients. Right from the basic care to counseling the patients about the treatment, they are the only ones who interact with doctors, patients, attendants and other lab technicians. So, it is important that nurses have to maintain their professionalism and should also make an impression on others. This would make the patients feel at ease.

Most people assume that plus size scrubs or nurse uniforms do not make fashion statements. However, the fact is, this assumption is not true. Do you know there are plenty of colors, patterns and materials like the smaller sized medical scrubs?

In earlier days, nursing scrubs were only white in color. Even though traditional color is still followed these days, lots of hospital authorities are selecting different color uniforms for nurses. They generally choose various plain shades. Any colors are acceptable provided they do not hurt the patient's sentiments. Hence, bottle green and some shades of red and generally avoided. All light shade uniforms go well with nurses. Pink uniforms are in demand these days.

Nurses' uniforms years ago were generally long skirts, these skirt are making a come back with the conservative Nurse or C.N.A. But most hospitals accept new patterns. If you are planning for a new pattern, medical scrubs are the best bet. These are comfortable and loose fitting shirt-pant combination. Medical scrubs also helps the nurses to avoid being revealing, which is in the best interests of both the patients and the nurses. This can make the nurse feel very comfortable and also professional.

Medical scrubs are available in lot of patterns. The nurses can also choose themes for their scrubs; especially cartoon themes if they are working in the pediatric department. The children will get closer soon and cooperate for treatment better. Most online manufactures offer customized scrubs made specially to suit your taste and profession. You are given wide options and can also customize your scrubs to look unique and professional at the same time. Nurse uniforms or medical scrubs also offer safety to nurses. They have to work in extreme conditions and will have to face even accident cases. This can cause them to stain their uniforms quite easily. So, it is very essential that the nurse choose the right fabric for their scrubs. Cotton is the most comfortable material. But, it is not stain resistant and tough to wash. The best would be a blend of cotton and polyester. Look out for 60% cotton and 40% polyester blend. This blend would make you feel comfortable and is also durable and stain resistant.

All these can be fitted for plus size scrubs. Plus size scrubs are both professional and fashionable too. So, the next time you look for plus size scrubs do not hesitate to customize them to suit your tastes.
