Your gut is telling you that your partner is cheating on you -- you don't yet have any proof, but you just can't shake the feeling. What you should know is that your intuition, especially in this area, is to be trusted -- many people believe this to be true, and it's true in far too many cases to deny the correlation. However, before you go and accuse your partner, or spouse, of cheating on you -- you need to do two things -- look for signs that they are cheating on you, and then get the proof you need to confront them, so that you have proof-in-hand to substantiate your feelings.

To catch a cheater - look for the signs

While individuals are individuals everywhere, all cheaters display signs that can help you to determine whether they are, in fact, cheating on you, or just going through one of life's many mood-changing situations. However it's also important to note that a sign is just that -- a sign, or a symptom -- it could mean nothing, or it could be indicative of an unfaithful partner.

Here are a few telltale signs of a cheating spouse or partner:

1)They come home smelling of cologne, or perfume, that is not theirs

2)They have strange phone numbers on their cell phone, or inappropriate text messages

3)They take a renewed interest in their appearance -- maybe they purchase a new wardrobe, they start wearing more / different makeup, they start working out, etc.

4)They start to work weekends for no apparent reason, they leave for work early, or they come home from work late on a regular basis, but again -- for no apparent reason.

5)Their attitude towards you changes -- maybe they've become distant, cold, critical and sarcastic, or sometimes they'll become overly affectionate, which is out of character for them.

6)They spend a lot of time on the computer, especially "behind closed doors". They may start to erase their emails, when they didn't do so in the past, and maybe they'll start removing their browsing history, which, this can be notable if they haven't done this in the past.

Now, these are just a few signs, but the most reliable indicator that you are being cheated on is your own intuition.

To catch a cheater - catch them where they feel most secure

The majority of cheaters today use the internet in their illicit affairs -- either they started out chatting on dating websites, they visit certain "adult" websites, or they maintain online communications with others, specifically for romantic purposes. It's relatively uncommon for most people to go out, on the spur of a moment, and "hook up" with somebody -- one-on-one meetings tend to be a result of progressive behaviors -- and those behaviors, if they happened online, can likely be found.

Many people have an unrealistic view of the internet -- they assume that if they delete their emails, and their browsing history, that their activity cannot be traced. This is a huge fallacy, one which works in your favor in this situation.

Online investigation services provide in-depth research where most cheaters start -- on the internet. Because these investigators have tools and resources that are not available to the public, they can catch a cheater, even if the cheating partner isn't currently using the internet to commit their infidelities. In other words, using online services, you can catch a cheater with acts that they committed in the past -- you don't have to try and catch them in the act today.

For this reason - online investigation services are one of the most powerful, and reliable, ways to catch a cheater. Your gut instinct, especially if it's backed by some signs of cheating, is a good indicator that your partner may be cheating on you. However, with an online investigation service, you have the chance to get undeniable proof in hand before you confront your partner on their suspected affairs.
