It is amazing how much information you can get from just a person's social security number. Your social security number is now tied to just about every kind of transaction you can possible be involved with. The DMV, your bank, your employment as well as your name, address, phone number , date of birth and previous addresses up to seven years can all be obtained from just a social security number.

The first step in any investigation is to run the SS number though a credit header data base. A credit header is the portion of your credit report that credit reporting agencies are allowed to sell to information brokers. This will return a current name address and phone number. This initial report can also return a list of aliases, maiden names , previous addresses and even the names of relatives and neighbors.

Secondly you can run the SS number through a banking header data base. This can return current and previous employment information. Date of birth and other identifying information. Now that you have a full name, date of birth and a list of all previous addresses for seven years we can then start looking at criminal records.

We can search at the county, state and federal level for convictions. You want to search each county the subject has ever resided to make a full thorough criminal records investigation. You can also check data bases for open wants and warrants in each state the subject has resided.

Another great resource is civil court searches. You can search for bankruptcies, judgments, law suits and liens. Also the county records office of each county of residence should be searched to find deeds, power of attorneys and recorded documents.

The local library has a searchable database that will include newspaper articles on your subject. This can include, birth, death and wedding announcements. These news items can reveal a wealth of information about your subject.

As you can see a wealth of information can be recovered on a person just by starting with a social security number. By the time you're finished you'll know more about the subject of the investigation than they even know about themselves. But it all starts with running the social security number through a data abase to obtain a full name current address and phone number. Then you can proceed to historical addresses and then the rest of the information will follow.
