Creative Winner - what energizing words! How does it sound when someone gives you this compliment?
Sometimes, when projects come together just as you'd planned, it feels like divine guidance! And the number of ways you are creative is unlimited...
What Does Your Artistic Spirit Call You To Do?
* Are you a painter or a fabric artist? * Or do you write short stories, novels or poems? * Is it possible to determine how creative you are?
I have three great-grandchildren, and I'm always amazed at the different things a cardboard box can be to them. Yet the average adult can only think of a few different ideas for any given project. How can you regain the spontaneity and creativity you enjoyed as a child? Here are a few ideas I've found to be very helpful:
Take A Voice Recorder And Camera Everywhere You Go.
* Enjoy a friendly conversation with yourself as you go about your day, and record the high points. * Note the colors you see, and why you feel so drawn to the scene. This will be your inspiration when there is time to get to your studio. * Notice the shapes of trees, or whatever catches your attention. For example, compare the mighty oak to the pine.
The stress of your day-to-day life makes it easy to forget the beautiful scene you saw on your way to work... but not if you took the time to take a photo and record your thoughts about the scene!
When you are back in the studio, study the photo and then put it away. Paint the special spirit of your memory.
Then listen to what you recorded. Allow the special feelings that you recall to kindle your imagination. Use this inspiration to hold your creative winner energy high.
Brainstorm A List of Ideas That Inspire You.
Usually the best ideas come near the end of the list. So problem solve with ideas from this list. This extra investment of energy transforms quick inspirations into quality decisions.
You may feel that you are not destined to create, just because you can't paint (yet!) or draw a straight line. Here is a little secret...there are very few straight lines in nature! And you'll be amazed at how your skills will grow, given some time and loving attention. No matter what your subject, take time to learn the facts of nature, such as how the limbs grow on different trees, their different colors and the unique textures of their bark.
Here Are Five Qualities You Can Cultivate, Having Fun At The Same Time! Creative Individuals:
1. Like to express themselves in many different styles of creativity.
2. Always look for something different and set new goals.
3. Look at familiar objects or scenes and ask, "What if...?"
4. Enjoy teaching and demonstrating their medium to others.
5. Enjoy getting in the middle of things and problem solving.
If you love any or all of these things then Congratulations. You are creativity in action!

I feel so disheartened by the lack of awareness around the 'inner critic' dialogue. There's a huge difference between dreaming and doing. A dream is an aspiration, something you strive for… while doing is actually working on its achievement. However, one without the other is useless. Without a dream, our actions are pointless, and without action, a dream remains unfulfilled. But oftentimes, we dream of things which are not really important - temporary, fleeting aspirations which do not make us better people.
