The term boot camp has origins that come from the military. Boot camps were designed for military recruits and focused on obtaining certain physical fitness requirements. That was considered important because recruits had to be as physically fit as possible for their time in service. Now, there is a new boot camp out there. It is going strong and receives some serious attention at fitness centers across the United States.
I am talking about a boot camp that is for business people, brides to be, the brawny, and the bulky alike. People sign up at their local fitness club for this commitment.
They are serious about their physical fitness and learn about team participation through personal accountability. Plus, boot camp gives you a break from the traditional exercise routine.
Physical Fitness Boot camps will put your whole body to the test. Every exercise or callisthenic you do is targeting some part of your body. Each movement encourages your body and mind to operate at peak performance. You will find that you are burning fat faster, gaining muscle (not to be confused with bulk) more quickly, and strengthening your body core all at the same time. Wow! If you started boot camp with endurance issues you will not end it with them. There is nothing like the feeling of being totally winded one minute and ready for a new challenge the next. Boot camp is a completely effective way to increase your endurance.
Team Participation And Personal Accountability Fitness centers have kept the strong emphasis on team participation when it comes to their boot camp programs. At first that may seem a bit scary. Who wants to drop and give twenty because somebody else didn't show up for class? No one I have ever met. That is part of what makes the boot camp plan so masterful. All it takes is a little bit of competitive spirit and not wanting to be the one to get the team in trouble for motivation. There are very few incentives out there for fitness that work so well. Nobody wants to be the trouble maker at boot camp. Trust me. I was late to my class once and the looks I got when we received our orders to drop were not pleasant. They were deserved though because I let my team down.
No matter what your age or fitness level you should give boot camp a try at your local fitness center. The entire experience is absolutely physically demanding. It is equally as fun and rewarding too. There are few achievements out there that feel so completely worth it. Your physical fitness level will be improved. You will have a more clear understanding of true team concepts. Your personal accountability for your choices will be taken to the next level.
And last, definitely not least, you'll have passed the test. It is time to be a super civilian and amp it up. March yourself over to your fitness center's boot camp today and be a trooper.
