Many people, from around the world, are taking up laser hair removal treatments to get rid of unwanted hair on the body. After all, smooth, hair-free skin looks good on anybody. However, lets take a look at why? It's believed to be expensive when compared to other methods of removing hair - like certain types of electrolysis, for instance. If you have the same question in mind, and are considering options other than using a laser to removal unwanted hair, you need to read further, while we uncover some benefits of this new technology.

Benefits of Laser Hair Removal Treatment:
- Laser has long lasting effects: The most important reason why most people opt for laser hair treatment is the fact that the results (hair-free skin) last for a longer time than those of most other hair reduction treatments. So, not only is it highly effective, but it'll keep you away from further treatment sessions for a very long time.
- Greater reduction of hair re-growth: Please note that laser hair removal is not a permanent solution. However, most customers have reported reduced hair re-growth. In fact, many have reported around an 80-90% reduction rate. This, however, is achievable only after you've gone through about 4-6 sessions, or a full course treatment
- Less Pain and Discomfort: Most laser clinics claim that the procedure is entirely pain-free. Here's a fact: They're lying. While it's not entirely pain-free, the pain and discomfort experienced by the customer taking the treatment is minimal. However, that's very subjective and it entirely depends on your endurance levels and your skin tone and the hair color itself. If you feel that there's a lot of discomfort, please ask the procedure specialist to stop immediately. It's advisable to wait for a couple of weeks to see how your skin reacts to the treatment (in the early stages itself). Slight discomfort during the initial treatment session(s) is common though
- Quicker, safer treatment: When compared to other forms of hair removal like electrolysis, laser treatment does the job fairly quickly, and in a relatively safer way. Large areas of body such as the frontal chest, the back and the legs can be treated in one sitting, usually about 40-60 minutes long. Also, unlike electrolysis, the risk of scarring is less with laser hair removal, which makes this modern day laser a safer option. However, please remember that you might see slight redness on the treated area, which is only temporary.
- Laser hair removal is affordable: Laser hair removal may sound expensive when you read the cost per sitting. However, the overall cost is much lesser than an electrolysis treatment of the similar scale.

Does the Laser procedure take a lot of time?
The answer to the above question depends on several things: your skin tone, the color and coarseness of your hair (on the area to be treated), and of course, the size of the area to be treated. Most people with suitable skin types (light skin, ideally) and dark hair color (or shades) can expect to be treated across 4-6 laser hair removal sessions over a period of 10-12 weeks. For some, it may be less or more.
If you decide to take up laser hair removal, please ensure that you carry out sufficient research and approach a good, reputed consultant and the right laser hair removal clinic, where the specialists know how to do it.
