A bud trimmer is a device that is used to remove the leaves and twigs of certain plants and flowers. It is a very common tool among herbalists, naturopathic caregivers, and individuals who believe in homemade natural medicine.

These devices are often rather large and permit multiple trim pro's to work on the job efficiently and quickly. They have extremely large blades which permit users to create pounds of appropriately trimmed flowers, herbs, and plants in record time. The benefit of this machine is that it replaces what is often a substantial amount of human labor; no longer do you have to be a trim pro, sitting for hours cutting off the excess parts of your crop. Now you can simply place your plants in the machine and have the work be done for you, this makes bud trimming a faster process for even a novice.

Once the trimming process has been completed, another handy tool to have around would be the jack press, which uses heavy hydraulic force to turn trimmings into thick round pucks of paste. This paste is made of the byproduct of trimming, in other words the part of the plant that you would typically throw away. It trims the waste down to nothing, which saves money and resources, and it can be used to create pastes or for cooking or to be vaporized, inhaled, or eaten directly like most herbal treatments.

There are many uses for herbal pastes including beauty treatments and topical medicinal functions. One benefit of these pastes is that they do not mold as quickly as other herbal preparations might, they require minimal storage, and they are sometimes less harsh on the system than more traditional forms or preparation.

If you are a natural medicine enthusiast you can occasionally find a selection of tools like the bud trimmer or jack press at your local herb store. You may also seek out these tools, particularly very large or difficult to find models, on the Internet or through special catalogues and magazines. Prices for such tools vary greatly depending on price, as well as the size that you will require for your project. It is best to determine exactly how big of a trimmer you will need prior to making a purchase and do some research on which brands and styles have the best reputation. Despite the fact that presses and trimmers can be quite expensive, the amount of time and energy they can potentially save generally makes up for the expense.
