Hey kids, when was the last time that someone asked you how you felt or how are you doing? You probably get the question at least a few times a day. Most of the times it's not a question that demands an answer but just more of something that people say to each other. What if the person that asked you the question was really looking for an answer? What would your answer be?

Here's something for you to consider. How you feel is often times in direct relation to what you think. You might say wait a minute, how can that be? Well it's true. Consider this.

1. What are the thoughts that make you feel this way

2. Can you control them

Often times people go through their daily lives assuming that things just come their way and they just react as best they can. In reality, what comes into your life very often times is in direct relation to what you think about and what kind of energy you send out. I know that this can be a bit of a stretch but it's a refreshing thought because it allows us to feel that we are actually in charge of our lives.

If you take a close look at many situations you will find that the choices that you made and the thoughts that helped you make those decisions really do have a very real and strong effect on the results and the situations that you find yourself in. Often times I hear people say, "it's not my fault". A better response would be to say "I'm completely powerless and have no control over what happens to me." The point is, if it happened to you it's a good idea to claim responsibility because in some way, you were responsible.

It's quite an empowering feeling to realize that you have control over many of the situations that happen to you even though at times the results may be different then you want.

Young people who realize that they have the power to make good decisions develop a feeling of being in charge. It's a great way to feel and it's a tremendous boost for your self image. Seeing yourself as a person who is capable and in charge is something that all young people can and should believe. Work on it. It will be time well spent.

Realize your power,
