Long term residual income means you will continue to get paid in the future even if you stopped working. Sometimes this is referred to as a walkaway income.

MLM compensation plans offer long term residual income through the business opportunity distributors join. However many MLM businesses promote long-term residual income yet very few people actually achieve it.

There are so many different types of compensation plans you really must look closely at the one being offered to you. You are going to come across various matrix and binary plans. You will even see a single leg plan if you look hard enough.

Most MLM compensation plans are good because it allows you to benefit from the efforts of people above you and below you. If you are lucky enough to get into a business where your upline enrolls a lot of people underneath you, you really can benefit from that.

However if you're in a business where you are expected to enroll a lot of people personally to make any money it will be much more difficult. The primary problem with this is the attrition rate that comes with MLM businesses.

It is a plain fact that people join opportunities because they fall in love with the idea of making a lot of money. When that initial excitement wears off the reality of building an MLM business sets in.

Today it's much easier to build a large MLM business if you use the Internet to do it. However many people are frightened of sitting in front of their computer and doing Internet marketing.

The simple fact is you must learn how to generate traffic to your network marketing website if you expect to enroll people. Hopefully the business you are in offers you good marketing tools to help you do that.

At the very least they should be giving you banners, ad copy, graphics, and training to help you market your business on the Internet. If you do not have quality marketing tool you will never achieve a long-term residual income unless you're lucky enough to sponsor a handful of real leaders.

The product line is very important as well. If you're selling a product that people need, and use on a regular basis, chances are they will stick with the program even if they're not building a large group of their own.

Nobody ever achieves any residual income in network marketing unless products are moved. By moved we mean manufactured and distributed out in the marketplace. This can be done through wholesale purchasing or retailing the product.

The bottom line is you need a lot of product being moved on a consistent basis if you are going to continue to achieve residual income. By being in the right MLM business with the correct compensation plan and product this is easier to do.
