Being able entertain and please people with simple magic trick is a pleasure that is unmatched. In this article I'll describe an easy to learn "close up" magic trick that I've used personally dozens of times. Because this is a close up illusion, you can perform this for only a few people at time. This makes it perfect for bars, parties, and other social gatherings. When people see this, they'll ask you to do it again and again so they can try and guess the secret behind it.

Kids especially love this trick, because even they will want to learn how to do it so they can show it to their friends. If you like to "ham it up," so to speak, you can have a lot of fun with this trick. They will believe you have powerful skills of telekinesis.

All you need is an ordinary rubber band, and a paper clip, or something else that can just hang there while you make it move with your powerful psychic skills. Even if they are watching from a few feet away, they won't be able to discover how you do this magic trick. Here's the trick:

You hold a stretched out elastic or rubber band between your hands, with your left hand lower than your right, and separated by about eight inches or so. As you focus all your psychic energy on the paper clip, or whatever else you have hanging there, it will start to mysteriously move up towards your right hand. The more you concentrate, and focus your powerful telepathy on the object, it will obey your psychic commands and continue to break the laws of physics and move up toward your right hand. Be prepared to hear excited squeals of pleasure from your audience.

Here's the secret behind the magic trick. When you start off, hold the end of the elastic band in your right hand, and hold the middle of the length in your left hand. Keep the rest of the slack hidden in the palm of your left hand. Make sure to have your palms facing you, so they can't see the trick. When you start, have the paper clip or other object near your left hand, and have you right hand slightly elevated, and about eight inches away or so.

Now all you need to do is slowly let out some "slack" with your left hand. Keep the distance between your hands the same. As you release more slack, the paper clip will naturally rise toward your right hand. It's important that you start out with sufficient stretch in the rubber band between hands, so you have lots of room to work with as you allow out some slack from your left hand. You don't need to let out that much, as you only need an inch or so of movement to have a powerful effect.

One fun way to avoid detection is to pretend you are exerting tremendous amount of psychic energy onto the paper clip, and after it has moved an inch or so, collapse your hands and act as though you've expended a tremendous amount of energy. After a few breaths, and after you collect some more psychic energy, (and after you've reset this trick) you can perform this for them again. I'll leave it up to you if you want to reveal this magic trick.

To quickly and easily learn more magic tricks that you can use anywhere, anytime to powerfully impress others, come on over to magic tricks revealed today.
