Altamonte Springs, Florida is located north of Orlando, Florida with a population of 41,200. The name "Altamonte" means high hill in Spanish, but the area is actually quite flat. Altamonte Springs came about thanks to the railroad in 1887 and the attraction to the many lakes and springs. Once a sleepy village, Altamonte Springs today is a thriving community with amenities for all. There are many parks including Eastmonte, Westmonte, Lake Brantley Athletic Complex and Lake Brantley South Athletic Complex.
