What you're about to read would have got my wife and I burnt at the stake 200 years ago. My wife Jill would have been branded a witch; and I'd have been branded a heretic. Talking to God, angels and spirits was tantamount to signing your own death warrant.

I'm Glenn Harrison. I was born and raised in Sheffield in the County of Yorkshire in England, UK. My family were far removed from the spiritual and religious faiths, so I grew up to become a confirmed atheist. In fact, my logical, cynical mind grew to detest religion and detest hearing the words Jesus and God, used out of other people's closed doors.

I grew to detest singing hymns at school; and cringed as I got married at the age of 22 in a 'Church of England' Christian church, listening to the Vicar's speech. I was only doing it to appease my wife to be.

I had no belief in God, angels or spirits. As far as I was concerned, you were born; sh*t happened; and then you died. Circle of life. Candle's out. Worm fodder.

Ironically, the records will show that I'm a Christian, baptised in The Church of England. Back in the 1950's; and I guess even today to a certain extent; it was traditional to baptise a child if you were British; even if you weren't a practising Christian. It was programmed into the masses: Have a child and throw a party so that everyone in the family can see the child. Might as well make it happen in a church; it's free. Don't really have to be religious. But it's the done thing; isn't it? Plus we can all get dressed up in our 'Sunday best' and it's a good excuse for the blokes to get to the pub. You get your photo taken too.

Yet no-one seemed to care whether or not the child would want to be baptised. Too late when they grow up and can make decisions for themselves; they're already baptised. I'd scoff at spiritualists, church sermons, prayer, 'Born again Christians', grace at meal times; and anyone who was thankful to 'The Lord'. I was bitter in my youth and walked around with a big chip on my shoulder, feeling that life owed me something.

In 1995 the God Channel appeared on satellite T.V. Talk about laugh when I saw it. I'd watch it from time-to-time because there were some good motivational speakers on the channel. I was launching my speaking career; and although I wasn't happy with the content of their speeches, watching some of the speakers gave me some speaking tips. I'd no idea how this programme would come back to haunt me later, with a different agenda. Not for what the speakers were preaching; but for how passionate they could be about a subject which was misleading so many people.

You see; I was the typecast non-believer. I didn't believe in God, Jesus, the Bible or spiritualism in any way. We western male non-believers seem to have a collective word for it all: "Boll***s!" The number of times I've heard that response from men when you talk (in particular) about spiritualism. And that was me; for years.

That is; until I was with Jill in 1997 at the age of 43. We met in 1994. I was just about to hit 40 and Jill was 29. She waited three years before she dropped the bombshell on me that she was psychic. She told me she didn't want me to know at first in case it frightened me away from her.

Something freaky happened in 1997. We were driving on a motorway, from the South, back North to our home, when she drew breath sharply and sat up in the car, bracing herself with her hands on the sides of her seat; pushing her head back against the head restraint; as though we were about to hit something with the car, and have a serious accident. I swerved at high speed with the shock, thinking that I'd not seen something ahead of us that we were about to crash into, or run over. We were doing about 85 mph at the time. But there was nothing there.

I had a major adrenalin rush. "Why did you 'do' that?" I shouted, "What did you see?" "Nothing!" she said, with a dismissive, yet fearful voice. I asked her a number of times, but she repeatedly told me it was nothing. One of my strengths and often a weakness, is that I don't let go.

I persisted with her until she finally, sheepishly, blurted it out that she'd seen a spirit. A monk, stood in the middle of the motorway; and we ran straight through him. She admitted to me for the first time that she was psychic. She sees dead people! And that's when it all started. My life took on a paradigm shift of massive proportion over the next few years; and at that time, I'd no idea of my destiny. And if someone had told me; I'd have just laughed at them. A smirk appeared on my face, but I was curious.

Jill told me of her gift from birth; which she'd suppressed for many years, because of the ridicule and trouble that it brought. But then went on to tell me that at times she had no control over it. She described the monk, with no visible face. Then it happened on two more occasions over the next few miles.

The following morning, we looked at a road map. And guess what? The section of the motorway we were on at the time Jill saw the monks, had an ancient Monastery ruin at the side of the motorway. Now I wouldn't say that this freaked me out; but it was an eerie coincidence. At the time, we were living in a house that had been built, only about 6 years earlier, on land purchased from a church. It was the far end of the church graveyard. The church was 15th century, standing 100 yards from our house. The nearest graves were only about 30 yards away.

As time went by, many spirits would appear in our home. Jill would describe them in the finest detail. The vast majority were friendly; but some were evil. Having a great thirst for knowledge, and having known Jill for 3 years, it was difficult to ignore this intelligent, rational, focussed woman, when she told me about the after-life. I guess at first I just played along with it, so as not to offend her; but she never rammed it down my throat, and as time went by, there was less and less that I could find fault with.

There was one particular spirit that we called 'Smokey Joe'. You knew he'd been around because of the smell of cigarette smoke; which 'I' could smell too. Jill explained that she was a little like a telephone. She couldn't ring out (YET), but they could ring in. And the more people she allowed to ring in, the more that spirits would queue up to talk to her; until finally she'd have to blank them out and tell them to go away.

As time went by, she started to earn some extra income by doing psychic readings. Little did I know where this was going to lead. My world, that I thought I knew, was about to be shattered. As time went by, she grew stronger with her gift. To the extent that I sensed there was more to what she'd admit to.

It's now August 2010 and my life has been overwhelming. From atheist and non-believer, to spiritualist, I've now witnessed the trance-channelling of over 50 different Archangels, Ascended Masters and Light-Beings, such as Pleiadians, Arcturians, Lemurians and Sirians. I am being taught healing techniques and how to live a more spiritual life.

So, enough about me; what's in it for you? There is an awakening happening. As we move through 2012, more people will awaken to spirit, and since you have taken the time to read this article, you may well be one of them. If you want to accelerate the process, you need to meditate. Meditation is the key to connection to spirit. When you meditate, you access the universal life-force energy. Don't expect to connect straight away. When you learned to walk, it took time. For most of us, connection to spirit is a re-learning process that can take months, but you will get there eventually.
