When your parents come to stay with you it is a great chance to spend some time together, however finding a common interest between the generations can be tough so here are a few ideas to get you started.

Go To The Theatre

The theatre is often an exciting way of spending a few hours together as the play or musical that you are going to see can spark conversations between you. Furthermore, with different acts on you usually have a lot to choose from and can either find something that suits both your tastes (and your wallets) or one of you can compromise and allow the other to choose. If you trust your parents' choices then it's often a good way to gain some favour.

Fly In A Hot Air Balloon

Because it's not a particularly common activity, going for a flight in a hot air balloon isn't something you'll have done too often together before. In fact, for most people it will be their first time. Of course, the very nature of a balloon flight is so intimate that it means you are going to be in close proximity for a while and you'll also have plenty to discuss as you point out all the various landmarks of the areas in which you live. It's a real treat which you'll both remember and cherish.

Go To A Sporting Event

Most towns and cities have a football team, which can be decent enough entertainment if your parents happen to visit while they're at home, and furthermore is a bit of a father-son tradition in many families. If one member doesn't enjoy football then there are many other activities on throughout the year, from long distance cycling races to athletics to swimming which can all be great to watch. All you have to do is find out whether they're on.

Go To The Pub

Nothing says conversation like going to your local and sharing a drink or two with your parents. Alcohol famously makes people less inhibited and therefore you are more likely to have an in-depth conversation after a few beers or while sharing a bottle of wine. Just make sure you don't drink to excess otherwise you might regret it the next day!

As you can see there are many things that you can do the next time your parents are down - you just have to do a bit of research to organise

British School Of Ballooning provides Hot Air Balloon Flights throughout the south of England. Hot Air Ballooning is the perfect way to enjoy the scenery in the Home Counties. Find out more about Balloon Rides Kent here http://www.hotair.co.uk/location/kent
