When the winter days draw out we are often left with nothing to look forward to in the calendar as cold January just gives way to dreary February. Booking a holiday is often the impetus we need to carry on - here's some food for thought.

Beach Holiday

If you are simply desperate for the sun in the depths of the cold winter then beach holidays can all of a sudden appear very tempting. The great thing about going to the beach for a week or a fortnight you can get a holiday for almost any budget, with this type of holiday available in the cheaper Canary Islands through to Egypt and right up to luxury destinations such as the Maldives.

Of course, going on a beach holiday does have its drawbacks as lying in the sun for ten days can result in sunburn and is totally reliant on the weather - if it rains there's not too much to do. It can also be pretty dull, so you'll need a good book and plenty of sun tan lotion to make this holiday work.

Go In A Hot Air Balloon

Flying in a hot air balloon is unlikely to be an entire holiday for anyone - although if you have the desire you can do some pretty hefty balloon holidays - but they can be a fantastic part of any holiday. You'll get an unusual experience, which is breath-taking, and you'll get a good look at your destination, whether it be at home in the UK or abroad.

Adventure Holidays

Adventure holidays can be some of the most memorable, and most expensive, around. Trekking through the mountains in Borneo or completing the Inca Trail can be an exhilarating challenge. There are almost always fabulous photographic opportunities on these types of holidays as you take in scenery which can be some of the most spectacular in the world. Be warned though, these holidays are certainly not for the faint-hearted and often require a basic level of fitness because they are quite demanding physically at times.

As you can see there are plenty of different holidays with which to tantalise yourself in the winter and spring months. The key thing really is to decide what is important to you and what sort of risks and challenges you are willing to accept. All in all you have some great options to look at and ponder over in finding the right holiday for you.

British School Of Ballooning provides Hot Air Balloon Flights throughout the south of England. Hot Air Ballooning is the perfect way to enjoy the scenery in the Home Counties. Find out more about balloon flights London here http://www.hotair.co.uk/
