The Garden Room - Such a Good Idea

There are many uses for a garden room or studio and you need not be restricted to only using yours during the Summer months. As well as being a nice retreat for relaxation, it can be an extension to your home and could be used as an extra bedroom when you have family or friends to stay.

For those who like to entertain, they can have a little bar and tables and chairs. If you were hosting barbeque, you could have a large table set out with food and condiments so that your guests can help themselves. Of course your garden room can be fully serviced with water and electricity. It should be a well constructed and sturdy building which will be insulated and double glazed. The doors and windows should have proper locks on them as this will ensure that your garden room and its contents are secure.

Most of us need to find a quiet place to relax and enjoy a little time to do the things we want. For some, simply a quiet place to read a book and sip tea is their idea of sheer bliss. You may prefer to indulge in a bit of painting or pottery, so your garden room could become your studio.

However you choose to use your garden room, try to decorate it in muted calming colours and use wood or bamboo furniture as this will make for a relaxing atmosphere and a quiet ambience. Careful planting outside will create a peaceful area for you to enjoy your garden and watch the wildlife.

You may however, prefer to use your garden room as a music and or dance studio. You will be able to have some soundproofing put in during construction. Your wooden floor will be ideal for dancing and you can place large mirrors and a bar on the back wall so that you can see yourself practising your positions and steps.

For mothers who also work, if they are able to work from home, a garden room can become their home office. This allows them to be able to remain at home when their children leave for school in the morning and then return in the afternoon. They can work in a flexible manner which means they know they are there for their children and this means that they will be more focused and more productive.

It could be that you would like to have a spa room complete with hot tub and sauna. Your garden room can be transformed into a place of pure indulgence. Complete your luxury spa room with a sound system for playing soothing music to melt all your stresses away.

Basically, you can customize your garden room into whatever you want or need it to be. Garden rooms are so versatile and would be a wonderful addition to any home. They are low maintenance and once you have one, you will wonder how you ever managed before.
