Panic attack disorder is a very real ailment. People that suffer from this disorder feel mentally and physically out of control. They have heart palpitations, shortness of breath, sweating, their mind is racing with thoughts that are filled with dread.

The world is not going to end and they aren't going to die, but those feelings are very real to a person with panic attack disorder. At one time or other they will end up in the hospital thinking they will die.

Their heart beat is so rapid that they feel they are having a heart attack. Shortness of breath is so bad they may be having an asthma attack. But after many tests they are really dealing with anxiety attack disorder.

The feelings come from a stress related event such as a traumatic event in childhood or a death in the family. Sometimes it comes from an outside source such a place or a crowd of strangers. Often times it is inherited from a parent or other family member.

Which ever way a person has ended up with anxiety there is hope for living a normal life. They do not have to hide away from the world or by pass certain events because it is too stressful. There is hope and treatments for anyone.

The treatments as many and span from drug therapy to meditation. What ever course one chooses to deal with their panic attack disorder is an individual choice. What ever works for them is right. No one can say which will work it is trial and error. But none will work miracles over night.

It takes time to find one that will bring the mind to a relaxed state instead of racing thoughts of doom. The breathing exercises will take time to learn and remember to use when a person's heart is racing. Visualization will help the mind calm down which will bring the body to a controllable state.

There is no right or wrong treatment for anxiety. Although alternative treatments do exist that help more than drugs. Herbs and meditation appear to help more than addictive drugs for the treatment of anxiety disorder. All natural products help also. These are not drugs that keep a person a zombie or addicted.

Treatments that use a natural course of action all seem to work better over time. They bring the mind into focus and keep the panic under control. It will keep a person out of the hospital and save the testing or incrimination that goes along with suffering from panic attack disorder. It is not something to take lightly.
