So you have a small business, thats great. But guess what? Just because your small business is there, doesn't mean people will come. Its not a build and they will come type of situation. Its more like, build it, tell them about it, and then maybe they will come. Advertising your small business can be a tough job. You have to be creative and figure out a way to not only tell people about your business, but do it in a cost effective manner. Thats why I think its very important for every small business owner to invest in business signage.

The question is what type of sign should you get? There are so many different signs to choose from. Sometimes the hardest part is picking which one is best for your business. I personally love the cartop sign. When you are a small business, on a tight budget, this is the way to go. You just strap that baby to your car, and get going. No matter where you are, you will be getting the word out about your business.

Now, the sign by itself won't do you any good. Its all about the message that you have written on the sign. So what should you put on the sign? Well, the best way to get peoples attention is with a deal. People love a great deal. Have a 50% off deal or a buy one get one free deal. It really doesn't matter what it is. Just give the people something they can't resist.

If they see a deal like that being advertised on your cartop sign, they will want to take advantage of it. I don't know of very many women who would not take advantage of that deal. Please understand that this is just an example. You have to be creative and cater the deal to your business and your target audience. One important thing to do is put your phone number on your sign. You want to make sure everyone has a way to reach you if they need more information.

Another sign that I really like is the sidewalk sign. This sign is one that every small business must have. Studies have shown that by placing this one sign in front of your business, can increase sales by up to 30%. What other form of advertising can do that for you at such an affordable price? I personally don't know of any.
