When a rapid production or high levels of Candida albicans yeast develop in the body, a condition known as Leaky Gut Syndrome can occur. What happens is that as Candida yeast becomes out of control, the digestive tract becomes inundated with this parasite, causing the good bacterium within the body to be overwhelmed.

Soon, the membrane lining within the digestive system begins to develop small openings, allowing undigested or partially digested food to literally leak. When this happens, a person is at risk for more than 180 different toxic byproducts to be absorbed into the blood stream. Eventually, these toxins will not only affective the digestive system but other parts of the body.

As the toxins spread, things such as weight gain, depression, irritable bowel syndrome, bladder infection, and other health problems appear. The problem is that often, a person will go to the doctor for one of the health issues, only to be treated for that particular problem all while Leaky Gut Syndrome continues to do damage. Therefore, it is imperative that proper diagnosis and treatment be provided.

Keep in mind that with Candida yeast overgrowth, the body goes into an allergic response that then stimulates other problems. For instance, the following are all physical attributes associated with Leaky Gut Syndrome caused by too much Candida yeast.

Liver - As the liver works to eliminate the toxins from the body, it becomes stressed

Appetite - Commonly, people with Leaky Gut Syndrome will have serious cravings for carbohydrates, causing weight gain

Thyroid and Metabolism - As the liver is working overtime to rid the body from these harmful toxins, thyroid hormones and metabolism function are affected

Digestive System - High levels of Candida yeast also causes problems with the digestive system such as bloating, gas, and diarrhea

Hormones - Because receptor sites are blocked by environmental chemicals, a condition known as pseudohormone or false hormone occurs, causing an imbalance

Fat Cells - As more and more toxins become trapped in the body because of the overwhelming production of Candida yeast, fat cells begin to expand Fluid Retention - The body will continue trying to dilute the heavy load of toxins, which causes serious fluid retention

Weight Gain - Finally, the overgrowth of Candida yeast causes too much cortisol to be released within the body. As a result, losing weight is almost impossible to achieve.

If the overgrowth of Candida yeast is not brought under control, the body simply cannot get back into a healthy balance. Soon, this bad yeast infection will spread, which is why it is so highly invasive, leading to Leaky Gut Syndrome. Therefore, the parasite associated with Candida yeast has to be controlled. Otherwise, it will continue attaching to the intestinal wall becoming a permanent part of the body's organs.

Today, it is estimated that more than 30 million people in the United States have an overproduction of Candida yeast. This means these people are walking around feeling miserable and dealing with a host of physical problems and often, not even knowing why. Rather than feel defeated, it is important to know that there are things that can be done to change the situation.

The bottom line is that rather than struggling with health issues to include weakened immune system, chronic fatigue, irritable bowel syndrome, migraine headache, allergies, and so on, you can take action for change. The most important thing you can do is educate yourself about Candida yeast, learning more about the way it attacks the body, as well as things you can do to eliminate it.

It takes time to bring an overgrowth of Candida yeast back in balance. After all, the cells of this yeast are known to produce a long list of different toxins that virtually poison the body. As the tissues of the body are contaminated, affecting major organs such as the lungs, liver, kidneys, glands, immune system, bladder, central nervous system, and even the brain, a number of health conditions develop.

The key is not to feel that you are alone or nothing can be done. While Candida yeast can be highly invasive by breaking down the first line of defense or the mucosal lining of the gastrointestinal wall, you can do things to stop the growth. This takes time and persistence but getting on the right diet and in some cases using supplements and medication will make a significant change for the better.
