Making Money On The Web Can Be Your Personal El Dorado...but you'll have to keep exploring

The world is full of gullible people who think starting your own internet business can be done sitting on a beach with the minimum of interruption and without any formal business experience, internet knowledge or even the need to attend a computer training class.

Statistics suggest that upwards of 90% of people who start out with high hopes of running a home business internet marketing company fail. It's no accident that these figures are remarkably similar to traditional bricks and mortar start-up failures.

Nevertheless, it's easy to see why many good folk are seduced by making money on the web when they see get-rich-quick make money scams extolling the virtues of internet marketing for just a few minutes work a day. And when these alluring ads are illustrated by opulent Florida beach villas, Ferrari motor cars and Cessna aircraft, the thought of an exit from the daily grind is mightily attractive.

And, of course, it is all possible because there may well be suitable make money opportunities that match your talents. Equally, it is just as possible to achieve everything you want out of any successful business if you have the will and tenacity to succeed. So, if you've got what it takes, and it takes plenty, you can try any of the hundreds of make money opportunities on the internet. And you can start from home just as you can with many other traditional businesses.

But don't expect to get super rich overnight; it can be a long haul and there will be heartaches along the way. You'll have to work hard because work and success are inextricably linked. Remember the adage "The Harder I Work The Luckier I Get". Nonetheless, when you start making money on the web, it will be worth it; you'll learn a lot, meet some extraordinary people, have lots of fun and, above all, you'll never again have that "Thank God It's Friday feeling". And that really is something worth achieving - you're supposed to enjoy life!

If you want to spread the risk you could some join like-minded colleagues or friends and form a partnership or better still, find a mentor who is experienced and has consistently been able to make money with computer skills and relevant internet know-how.

Alternatively, get hold of some good DVDs so that you can actually see how things are done on a screen in front of you. You'll learn the latest internet "How To" tips, tricks and techniques simply by watching how to do it on video.

Otherwise have a look at some of the excellent online training software applicable to various money-making niches on the web.

If you want some really encouraging news, it's this: There are thousands of people who have left the rat race and are perfectly happy in their work at home internet business. Some are making just as much as they did in a regular job while others have reached the Promised Land where they have found it to contain beach houses, Ferraris and Cessnas in abundance

More good news is that there are many ways of making money on the web; in fact, almost everyday someone finds a different way to get involved - even making money on ebay - and it's an exciting place to be when things finally click.

On the other hand it's not all good news because knowing how to use a computer is only the first step on a very long journey; this particular learning curve can be exceptionally steep. You'll need to know something about web sites and their content and whether the sphere you're operating in actually needs a website to make some money. If it does you'll find yourself looking at Dreamweaver, Front Page or XSitePro among other web building programs. You'll doubtless have heard of Clickbank, AdSense, Pay-per-click, PayPal, PayDot.com, Squidoo, Ebay, Youtube, Facebook, Digg, Twitter, Wordpress, del.icio.us, StumbleUpon, reddit, and furl - not forgetting article marketing. Perhaps not all are necessary to make money on the net but certainly all are useful avenues to explore on your internet journey. If you are prepared to put the work in you can definitely take advantage of the make money opportunities on the net and have a quality lifestyle. However, don't expect to sit on a beach while you are doing it.
