In this fast-paced world, health is the most important aspect that can assure you a happy life. Even if you have many other assets, lack of health can nullify the value of all of them. As you may know, vitamins are an important part of the diet. There are different vitamins and each one of them is connected to different organs in the body. These vitamins are so important for the body to keep it running. There are so many diseases that are connected with the deficiency of these different vitamins.

Avitaminosis is considered a disease connected with the deficiency of vitamins in the body. In actual terms, Avitaminosis is not a single disease. It is the common name for a group of different diseases that are caused due to a lack of one or more vitamins in the body.

Causes of Avitaminosis

According to basic information that everyone has about the diseased state of Avitaminosis, the cause of this is a deficiency of vitamins. This is the simplest way to explain the cause of this disease. However, it is not enough to have a clear understanding of the causes. In short, a deficiency is not regarded as being the entire cause. All things that cause a deficiency of vitamins in the body should be considered as the real cause of this disease. There are mainly three conditions that can amount to a lack of vitamins in the body. They are as follows:

· Nutritional conditions

· Metabolic conditions

· Deficiency conditions

Symptoms of Avitaminosis

There is not a single cause for the disease of Avitaminosis. This makes it more difficult to identify the symptoms. It is because of this reason that every symptom related to the deficiency diseases that are associated with particular vitamins will all come in the list of symptoms of Avitaminosis. From among the numerous symptoms, there are some that are very common. They are as follows:

· Pellagra

· Scurvy

· Beriberi

· Bleeding problems

· Pernicious anemia

· Alpine scurvy

· Night blindness

· Saint Ignatius' itch

· Rickets

Each one of these symptoms is associated with the deficiency of a particular vitamin. For example, the disease of night blindness is caused due to a deficiency of vitamin A in the body, and scurvy is caused due to the deficiency of vitamin C. Bleeding problems can be an after effect of so many aspects including the lack of adequate amounts of vitamin B12 in the diet. Each of these symptoms affects different parts of the body. A good and in-depth knowledge about the various symptoms is a must to spot the disease and to start treatment at an earlier stage.

Treatment for Avitaminosis

It is true that there is no specific treatment as such for the disease of Avitaminosis. Each of these symptoms has to be treated as is, and along with that, a balanced diet to counter the deficiency of the respective vitamins has to be given to the patient. The key aspect is to identify the disease and to provide treatment as soon as possible before the situation worsens.
