Got a big wedding coming up and want to look your best for the event? Men's suits for weddings offer smashing style, so you'll want to decide which type of fashion statement you'd like to make. Casual, semi-formal or formal? While you don't want to steal the groom's thunder, it's rather fun when your date, the bridesmaids and other guests stop to notice you! When selecting men's suits for weddings, the first thing to consider is the season in which the event is taking place as well as the time of day. Daytime services, spring, summer and outdoor events call for a more casual suit - possibly without a suit coat or blazer. Autumn, winter and evening weddings call for more formal attire and darker-coloured men's suits. When choosing suits for weddings, check the wedding invitation as well - sometimes it will state the dress attire for the affair. Usually, you'll just have to use your own best judgement. The 'transitional' look is a great option: smart for the wedding service and more casual for the reception. How is this achieved? For the service, you can wear a suit jacket or blazer and tie with trousers and dress shoes - then, shed the jacket and tie before the reception party. A V-neck sweater vest with a tie is also a chic choice the ladies seem to love! And again, you can tone it down in the evening with just the shirt and trousers, so you can let loose on the dance floor. Select a colour other than black for a summer or casual wedding. Neutral colours such as navy, brown, khaki and tan are acceptable for this dress code. There are also types of suits to consider. The main categories are solid, pinstripe, windowpane or check-patterned suits. The solid suit is a plain basic style, usually a single colour. If you're trying to stick close to traditional wedding fashion, just to be on the safe side or out of respect for the bride and groom, a solid suit is a good choice. It's also a smart choice if you are purchasing a new suit because as time goes on, its cost-per-wear will surely make it worth your while. For men who wish to let their personality shine through, a pinstripe or windowpane suit could be the way to go. Pinstripe is a popular pattern with vertical lines. Pinstripes are typically pencil-striped or chalk-striped. Like the names imply, pencil stripes are going to be thinner, more conservative stripes and chalk stripes are thicker and more freestyle. For a more outgoing and outspoken man, a windowpane suit is a stylish selection. The 'windowpane' pattern gets its name from the vertical and horizontal stripes which come together to make a square pattern which resembles a windowpane. Check-patterned men's suits can be tastefully done, although some can appear to be over-the-top. If you choose a conservative colour, the vertical and horizontal lines can make a bold and eye-catchy statement. Another men's suit style which is trending right now is the skinny trouser suit. This style seems to be popular among the younger men or those that are in relatively good shape. No matter which men's suit you choose, make sure it really brings out your style and flair - if you feel like a winner in your suit, you're sure to enjoy the wedding. A great men's suit equals mission accomplished!
