When a girl receives an invitation to a Christmas party given by friends, the occasion calls for a lovely dress. A vintage dress is an ideal choice for a girl who wants to make an impression on her fellow party guests. In fact, whatever the occasion, there are several reasons to make a choice from a selection of vintage dresses.

First, vintage dresses possess a unique style and design. Depending on the era of the vintage dress, it can be long or short with lots of detail or subtle elegance. For instance, if a girl admires 1920s fashion, she could look for a selection of dresses from that era and choose an adorable, flapper-style dress. Alternatively, she could go with a gown featuring an elegant, draped neckline that belongs to the 1930s era. Dresses from the 1950s are always a popular choice. A red, knee length, sleeveless dress with a puffy skirt would make a hit at any Christmas party. When a girl is looking through a selection of dresses that are vintage, she has an endless number of styles to consider.

The accessories are another reason to go with a vintage dress. Choosing the shoes, handbag, jewellery, and coat to go with a vintage dress is almost as fun as finding the dress itself. For example, an off the shoulder, green velvet dress from the 1960s would be perfect with a sparkly vintage handbag. Furthermore, a beautiful 1940s era gown it would look even more flattering with an elegant pair of earrings and a vintage bracelet. In short, searching for accessories to pair with vintage dresses is all part of the fun of creating a memorable outfit for the Christmas party.

A girl can have more fun with her vintage dress by fixing her hair to match the hairstyles of the era. A 1950s black cocktail dress with a lacy skirt would look all the more glamorous if the girl styled her hair like a 1950s movie star. The girl may be able to find a vintage hairclip or perhaps a scarf to complete her 1950s gorgeous ensemble. Party guests will be impressed by her careful recreation of the unforgettable look of the 1950s!

Finally, vintage style certainly stands out in a party full of dresses purchased from department stores. Many small, out-of-the-way boutiques have selections of vintage dresses as well as accessories. Of course, vintage dresses are also found online and in many cases, the seller makes note of some of the history behind the dress. A girl may welcome the opportunity to choose a vintage dress that flows with her tastes and personality. Many girls choose vintage because they are bored with the selections they find in department stores. A girl may feel she needs to develop fresh style for the New Years. With a bit of patience and vintage knowledge, a girl will likely find a vintage dress or two that deserve the spotlight at a party.

You can find a wide range of vintage dresses from independent boutiques at ASOS Marketplace
