Ever since the creation of netbooks, people started to compare them against the notebook computers from which their designs have been taken from, only that there were some adjustments to make them smaller. That is when the battle between Netbook vs.Notebook began. It has been a pretty tough battle and is still ongoing as technology continues to evolve. Here are some comparisons that will help you decide on which of the two wins.

Notebooks were the first to be developed. They have been built to be compact and portable but as powerful as a desktop computer. Some notebook computers even supersede the technical specifications of a desktop computer. Notebooks usually weigh on an average of 1.5 to 2 kg. They also vary in sizes from as small as 10 inches to as large as 21 inches. Well as you read this, there might already be something bigger than 21 inches being created somewhere in the world.

Netbooks on the other hand are smaller and thinner and more compact than notebooks. They are relatively lighter too. They also have the basic components of a notebook computer like display, keyboard and touchpad. But netbooks are not designed to work as powerful as a notebook computer. The technical specifications alone speak for it. Most netbooks do not have a SATA hard drive installed. They usually rely on solid state drives or just flash memory. They do not have that much power too.

The battery life of notebooks is usually longer than the netbook computers due to the small battery size of netbook computers to cope with the compact design. On the other hand, because netbooks are lighter and easy to carry, several people prefer buying one. Some would go for a notebook computer because they can still run multimedia applications like resource extensive games, and high definition movies. Netbook computers are preferred for others who simply want to have internet access on the go.

The battle between Netbook vs. Notebook has not been concluded yet especially now that netbook manufacturers are working on making netbooks as powerful as notebooks in their compact size. What truly matters is that people should get the one that fits their mobile needs.

For a businessman that has to have internet access and needs big storage space all in one computer, then a notebook computer is good to use. On the other hand, students and teenagers who just want access to a computer for the sake of internet browsing may prefer netbooks. You must also consider budget when you choose between the two. Only you can personally decide who wins in the netbook vs. notebook battle.

That is when the battle between Netbook vs.Notebook began.
