It's almost wedding season and this year the trends carry a common theme - everything reflects a personal or stylized theme. Brides want candy buffets but with personalized touches like white paper sacks with their initials or a saying on them. They want pictures of their guests, but not the same old ideas from years past.

Whether you're a wedding planner or a DIY bride, watch these 3 trends:

1. All white wedding cakes.

This year white wedding cakes that have a classic look are popular right now. Even off-white is popular in simple lines. To pull in some color, add an interesting flower, ribbon or detail. It will really pops against a white backdrop.

Our choice? A few red zinnias that really pop.

2. Wedding candy buffet.

This trend continues to be popular - and is practically timeless. Use different shaped clear bowls, martini glasses and containers full of candy. Match the candy to your wedding colors. Tie bows around the tall glass vases. Make each a different height so they are staggered. Either assemble everything on one table, or put candy jars throughout the décor and on centerpieces. Add a scoop and bags so guests can take some candy home with them. How much candy do you need? It depends on the size and how many containers, but as a general rule we suggest 1/2 lb. per person.

Our choice? Staying with the theme of white on white, fill containers with white candies such as white gummy bears, white jelly beans, white taffy and even white jawbreakers. Then bunch fabric on the table and arrange flowers to complete the look.

3. Photo booths - with a personal twist.

A simple photo shoot isn't enough - today's bride is adding scenery and props. So hang some fabric as a backdrop and have several types of hats ready. Or, try a vintage look. Whatever matches the theme of your wedding!

Our suggestion - take pictures with a digital camera and email them after the event. Then use the pictures for a photo album memory book or upload them to a site like Photobucket or Flickr. No need for a guest book when you have pictures of the guests!

Whatever the theme of your wedding, personal touches and details are what sets your event apart. These are what create a mood and the atmosphere that honors who you are as a couple. Everything should reflect who you are as a couple.
