You just very might well be sabotaging yourself when it comes to losing weight and body fat, and you don't even know it. You think you are doing everything right, exercising regularly and watching what you eat. That can be extremely frustrating. To the point where most people would give up.

But don't do that! There is something tricky going on with the food industry that they don't want you to know about. But I'm going to tell it to you. Artificial sweeteners and those so-called diet foods are part of the major problem keeping you from losing those unwanted pounds.

Artificial sweeteners are bad! No if, and's, but's about it. Think of them as Rocky Balboa and your body, especially your liver is their slab of cow beef. They constantly pound on you day in and day out.

The liver is the largest internal organ in the body. It's one of the most important organs you have. It engages in many metabolic processes, regulates fat storage, controls your blood sugar levels, and supports the digestive system. But did you know that the liver is mostly responsible for breaking down everything that goes into your body. This is the most important especially when it comes to losing weight, and staying healthy. So if you are eating a lot of artificial sweeteners, fast food, sodas, sugar, saturated and trans fats, think about what your liver is going through.

The liver has a very important task of recognizing what's good and what's bad. It tries and directs the good to the places they need to go, and tries to take the bad and push it out of the body. But when it is plagued with toxic chemicals (artificial sweeteners) it's mind gets confused and it doesn't do a very good job at filtering. This will cause you to not only not lose weight, but also gain it, in all the wrong places.

What exactly does your body consider to be a 'toxin'? If it is not recognized by the liver as a natural food source it is considered a toxin. And usually will be rejected by the body, only if they don't overwhelm it. Which is why synthetic 'one-a-day' type vitamin has such a poor absorption rate.

Artificial sweeteners have 0 calories, so the body doesn't recognize it as a food source. And yes, Splenda (sucralose) is an artificial sweetener. It alters the chemical composition of sugar. So now when you ingest it, the body doesn't recognize it.

Another problem with sweeteners is that it increases your appetite. Have you ever eaten something sweet and just didn't feel full? Added sweeteners have the tendency to increase your appetite because they trick your brain into thinking something nutritious is coming, when actually nothing is coming, so it tells you to continue to eat, which is bad if you are trying to lose weight or body fat.

Giving up sweeteners can be hard. But some alternatives to it can be honey, pure maple syrup, or stevia. Stevia is an herb found in nature, and it does not trigger a rise in your blood sugar like regular sugar does. You can find it in most health food stores. But remember, anything sweet needs to be in moderation.
