Although it seems rather easy to write a classified ad, there are many things that you must consider first. In fact you may not even be doing it right. Before you place your next ad review this article.

The primary question to ask is what makes a classified ad good or bad?

1. First of all it must be appealing. The reader must feel like he wants to read more.

2. Next it must contain the least amount of words to get him in agreement with you. ads that are too long will not be read and will end up just being scanned.

3. Finally you want a call to action that gets the desired result. For an internet business that is know as getting the click.

When writing a simple ad that works we used a formula known as any AIDA, which is short for attention, interest, desire, action!

Chances are the reader is looking at several ads so you must get their attention right away. They are going to be scanning ads looking for something that catches their eye.

When writing a classified ad your first two or three words are extremely important. You have to get their attention and then draw them into it.

Once you have their attention you need to quickly state your guarantee or other benefits to them. This should build them to a level of enthusiasm wanting to get in on whatever it is you are offering them.

To do this, you want to include power words in your ads such as limited time offer, guaranteed, and these sorts of things to make them feel comfortable with what you are saying as well as excited about it.

Let's say that you have a home business that helps people make money on the Internet. A good classified ad might say: Earn Big Money Online! Easy and simple. Guaranteed! Limited time offer. Click here now:

These are the essentials of any satisfactory classified ad.

- Attention

- Interest

- Desire

- Action

Just remember AIDA and follow this outline. Without these four things your ad will not get the desired result.

For the most part you are writing classified ads to generate traffic. Whether you are sending your reader to a landing page, website, or your blog a good classified ad serves one purpose, and that is to get the click.

I hope you have gotten some good ideas from this article and that you are able to use them to write classified ads that work for your own internet business.
