Yoga and Pranayama are very closely related.

Pranayama is the breathing that is associated with Yoga. It is important for Yoga teachers and students alike to learn the proper breathing techniques associated with Yoga. This can help to ensure that you are performing each move correctly and you are getting all of the benefits as well.

You can regulate your breathing pattern for many different reasons. You can learn how to control your breathing at any time in your journey. Even if you have been doing Yoga for years, learning Pranayama can help you to take your skills up a level. This is something that teachers should teach students during every class in order to receive the maximum benefits of Yoga.

If you are under stress, this can help you lose control of your breathing pattern. Learning to control your breath can help you in stressful situations and you will be able to stay in full control. Pranayama is something that needs to be continually practiced so that you can keep these skills fresh and this will help you to use them if you are in a very stressful situation.

When you can control your breath, you can also control your blood pressure. When you are breathing rapidly it can cause blood pressure to soar. You can now see the connection to how your breath can regulate other body functions. If you cannot control your breathing it is likely that other systems in the body can be out of balance.

Pranayama can also improve your mental health. When you are using the techniques you can rid your brain of any negativity. Negativity is something that many people carry around with them each day. You can use Pranayama to help you release the days negativity you might have picked up.

Controlled breathing has also been linked to reduced stress levels. It seems that people have more stress then ever. Trying to do everything can leave someone feeling like nothing is left. Pranayama can help you to control your mind and you can rid your body of any stress that is affecting the way you feel. This can also help you to get more rest when you are sleeping and this can affect the way you feel each day.

When you take the time and use Pranayama to help you feel good, this might become a practice that you make a commonplace. Yoga can always be enhanced with Pranayama and when you are participating in Yoga, you should make sure that breathing is incorporated into the technique for maximum benefits.
