I have never been one to skimp on education. I grew up in a family of educators and my dad was an elementary principal with a master's degree in education.
When I first started as an Internet marketer back in 2002 I quickly realized I had a very large learning curve. I think this is true even today as most people really do not have a clue how to use the Internet to make money.

1. How to choose a niche. This is really important in affiliate marketing today because niche marketing is the way top affiliates are making money.
2. How to get website traffic! Without website traffic you're never going to ever get enough visitors to your site to make money. The membership site should provide an action plan you can follow step-by-step for generating website traffic.
3. Video training. I personally like to print things off and read it, but I also like to watch a video at the same time.
We live in a very visual society and are used to seeing things on television. Video training is a great way to learn how to do affiliate marketing.
4. Updated content. You should receive new ebooks, PLR articles, marketing materials, and so forth on a current basis.
One of the keys to making money with affiliate marketing is to be able to branch into multiple niches. The membership site should provide new material you can use to create new moneymaking opportunities.
5. Ready made websites. Most of us don't have a website set up, or even know how to start a blog. A membership site should give you ready made websites you can purchase so you can begin making money faster.
6. Training. Access to mentors who can answer your questions is a big plus. A private member's only discussion forum is nice because you can interact with other members to get questions answered too!

These are a handful of things I would look for when joining an affiliate marketing membership site. Tools and training can play a big role in making you a successful affiliate marketer.
