At times the hardest part of article marketing for me is to sit down and start writing. I think anyone who writes articles for marketing purposes finds it easy to procrastinate at some time or another.

This is not unlike anything else in your Internet marketing endeavors. If you don't actually do it on a consistent basis are not going to benefit from it.

It takes discipline to be successful as an article marketer. If you do not actually have a passion for writing, you can still develop the article writing discipline you need to succeed with article marketing.

One of the most important parts of having this discipline is to choose a niche that you are interested in. This is why you see so much written about having a passion for the niche you are in, or being an expert at it.

It's much easier to think about the content for your article if you are somewhat clear on the subject matter. For one thing you don't have to spend a lot of time researching when you can write from a position of experience or interest.

I like to write numbered list articles. I will think about a theme for my article and then lists three or four primary points. Many times I will actually write the body of the article before I write the title, introduction and closing.

This helps me focus on the purpose of my article and to stay on the theme. It also makes it much easier to write the content when you work from an outline like this.

There is no time limit as you are working for yourself. However, if you write in small chunks sometimes it makes it easier to complete an article if you are not in the mood to write. It also makes it easier to crank out more articles when you are really in the mood to write.

Another key point is to go somewhere where you're not disturbed when you do your writing. It's better to be in your home office as opposed to being in the living room with your family trying to write an article.

Discipline yourself to sit down and write an article and you will find you can write just about anything in 15 minutes or less. This is true even if you need to do research for your article.

Another part of discipline is to proofread your article. Take a couple minutes and look over a closely for grammar or spelling errors.

Once your article was done it is time to submit it. I personally think using a submission service such as SubmitYourArticle.com is the way to go. However, if you can discipline yourself to manually submit to the top article directories that is okay as well!
