Throwing a solo ad together and sending it out to another Internet marketers email list is not what I would call effective email marketing to make money online. With all the emphasis put on social media email marketing is becoming somewhat of a lost art.

In this article let's talk about how you can benefit from effective email marketing and what costs you can expect to incur.

Email marketing is still a great way to reach a large targeted audience. However, when you first start out you may not have a list of people you can promote too.

I would suggest looking at quality email marketing programs such as HBAds and MyWizard Ads. Companies such as this give you the advantage of reaching quality email subscribers before your list is actually built.

This is an affordable way to do email marketing. The cost with this form of marketing will vary depending on the age of the list, the size of it, and other factors.

The type of advertising you do well affect your pricing as well. Purchasing a solo ad is going to be more expensive than purchasing a classified ad. Some ezine advertising gives you the chance of purchasing ads at either the top or the bottom of the email and that will affect your cost as well.

If you want to send out a solo ad you're going to need effective copywriting. If you do affiliate marketing you can often find prewritten email solo ads that will do a good job.

You can also look at hiring a content writer. Although these people are generally thought of as article writers or blog writers, they can also write content for you to use for email marketing messages.

This is a good route to take if you have trouble with the English language. This will give you a higher quality email message than you might be able to write yourself.

Building your own list is not something you should ignore. To do that you need a couple of tools.

1. Autoresponder. I use Aweber and it runs around $20 a month. Using a quality autoresponder is important because you want to get as many of your emails through spam filters as possible.

2. Splash page. This is something you can promote to capture the names and email addresses of your prospects. If you're unsure how to develop a splash page you can find people to do this for you at Fiverr.com for $5.

If you're going to be selling affiliate products the merchant may have splash pages you can promote as well. They will also have banner ads you can market online to build your list.

3. Traffic Exchanges. This is a free way to promote a splash page. You will trade your time by clicking on ads in exchange for your ads being shown.

It's much better to promote a splash page to build your list than it is to promote your affiliate sales page. There are literally hundreds, if not thousands of traffic exchanges, you can join for free all over the Internet.
