Blogging is one of my favorite ways to make money online. I think most people agree based on how many new blogs are built everyday. So you have a new blog set up, now what?
Once you have your new blog built it is time to start letting the world know about it. I would suggest the place to start is getting it indexed by the search engines. What does that mean exactly?
You need to help the search engines find you. I focus most of my marketing efforts on Google so when I start a new blog I want Google to find it as fast as possible. This is actually very easy to do.
The first thing to understand is Google spiders high traffic websites every day. If you want them to find their way back to your new blog you need to get your URL on one of these sites. Even better is to hyperlink your primary keyword phrase back to your home page and let Google find it.
1. Article marketing. Write an article and submit it to a high-traffic article directory such as Idea Marketers or Ezine Articles.
When your article is published online the search engines will find it. In the resource box of your article hyperlink your primary keyword phrase back your home page and your site will be indexed quickly.
2. Write quality blog articles. Focus on writing quality content and the search engines will come back on a regular basis.
Target longtail keyword phrases when you write your articles. This will help you start to rank in the search engines for those of keyword phrases.
3. Bookmark using Only Wire. Join as many social directories as you can on this site.
Try and bookmark every other blog post. This will help you develop a lot of backlinks very quickly, and search engines will get used to going from the social directories back to your blog.
4. Facebook and Twitter profile. Include your blog URL in your profile and join these two social networking sites.
Get in the habit of participating in social networking as your schedule allows and you will increase in the number of friends and followers. The amount of traffic you get from this will increase over time.
5. Deep link. As you begin to develop content link back to some of your own blog posts in the body of new blog articles.
Hyperlink the keyword phrase relating to that URL. Google loves deep linking and this will help you rank faster for those specific phrases.
6. Blog comments. Post blog comments on authority blogs relating to the niche of your blog.
Instead of placing your name in the comment box type your primary keyword phrase.This will help you start to develop authority backlinks for your primary keyword phrase.
One last tip is do not let your blog go dormant. If you find yourself having problems keeping your blog up-to-date hire a blog writer to do it for you. The last thing you want to do is get the search engines coming to your blog on a consistent basis and not finding new content.
