How Should I Start With Internet Marketing?

I can still remember back 10 years ago when I typed the words make money online into the Google search box. I was looking for a way to make money and I quickly came to realize I was looking at how I should get started with Internet marketing.

This is true because of the majority of ways to make money on the Internet today involve Internet marketing. This means you need to find one way you can make money and then learn how to do it as quickly as possible. Here are a few tips to do that.

1. Business model. There are many to choose from.

Affiliate marketing, network marketing, email marketing, article writing, blogging, and information websites are some of the most popular. In my case I started out as an affiliate marketer and over time have developed multiple streams of income.

Affiliate marketing is a good way to get started because it offers various ways you can make money. You also don't need your own products or marketing materials because the affiliate merchant provides that.

2. Find a mentor. Go to the Warrior Forum and join for free. This is the top Internet marketing forum in the world.

Look around and find out who is making the most money in the business model you have chosen. Join their email list, or subscribe to their blog RSS Feed.

Also spend time looking at some of the various threads that are archived relating to your business model. I know I learned a lot about Internet marketing at this forum and continue to go there on a regular basis.

3. Get traffic. Regardless of the business model you choose you are going to need website traffic if you expect to make any money online.

As an affiliate marketer you will either be promoting your company provided affiliate website, or your own personal website if you build one. There are many ways to go about getting traffic to your website.

If you have some money to spend the fastest way to get website traffic is to do pay per click advertising. Google Adwords is the top ppc program, Yahoo Marketing is a little less expensive and a good way to get traffic from the world's 2nd largest search engine.

There are many good free traffic methods as well. Some of these revolve around search engine optimization and include article marketing, blogging, and video marketing.

Regardless of how you choose to get started with Internet marketing you will need to become educated. Then apply what you learn and improve as an Internet marketer everyday!
