One of the best ways to make money with affiliate programs is to send out email messages to an opt in list. This can be your own list or someone else's list of subscribers. Many Internet marketers miss this point.

A basic fact in sales and marketing is a potential customer needs to see your offer multiple times before they are ready to make a purchase. TOMA is an advertising strategy that confirms this fact.

Top of mind awareness advertising is having your ad in front of the public when they are ready to act on it. Email marketing gives you a big advantage for doing TOMA advertising.

You can contact opt in subscribers over and over until they're ready to buy. The most successful affiliate marketers are those who make money online sending out email messages on a consistent basis.

1. Building your own list does take time, but the long-term efforts are worth it. This is why you see so many successful Internet marketers putting the emphasis on building their list as opposed to trying to sell products on their website.

A well designed webpage is going to promote a sign up form above the fold. This makes it easy for people to subscribe to an email list without working very hard to do it.

Another way to jumpstart your list is to purchase co-registration leads. With this strategy you let a lead company build your list for you.

You purchase a predetermined amount of leads and let the lead company get these leads for you over a period of time. This is a good idea because these are companies that have everything in place to build lists all day long.

You can then complement that by building your own list in various ways. Using a landing page is a good idea and you can promote these in multiple ways including traffic exchanges, article marketing, video marketing, and so on.

2. Ezine advertising. This is a strategy I personally have taken advantage of in the past.

There are many excellent email lists that are already built. The Internet marketer sends out a email newsletter periodically.

You can purchase ads in these ezines for a reasonable price. You can also send out solo email adds to these Internet marketers list. This is a fast way to promote your affiliate offers without waiting for your list to be built.

These are just a couple of ideas on how to make money with affiliate programs using email marketing. Email marketing is an excellent strategy for creating long term affiliate income!
