Let's discuss ideas you can follow for making your Internet business profitable. Unless you are a not for profit Internet business you work everyday to make money online. Unfortunately many online home business owners feel like they are actually a not for profit Internet business.

As a business owner you are responsible for your own success. Generally this comes down to doing things that are proven success methods. It also comes down to working hard or paying somebody to do the grunt work for you.

So what are some of these proven success methods I'm talking about?

1. Article marketing. Writing articles and using them in your business offers many advantages today.

For starters you can submit the articles to article directories to develop traffic and backlinks to your business. I like to use Submit Your Article and their patented Article Leverage Program.

Take a unique version of your article and shorten it to 150-200 words and post it on your blog. Then bookmark your blog post using Only Wire which is a social bookmarking service.

Take the shortened version of your article and use Article Video Robot to create an article video. You can also submit this directly to You Tube and other shared video sites at this time.

2. Publish an email newsletter. These are also called ezines and are a great way to build your email list and maintain contact with your subscribers.

One thing I like to do is direct my subscribers back to updates I have posted on my blog. This is a good way to increase your blog traffic as well as build your own reputation and sell more products.

3. Testimonial page. Ask people to provide testimonials about things you've done for them.

Create a blog post and add these testimonials to them. Link off of your home page back to your testimonial page and let these do your promotions for you.

4. Build a large content site. In the past there was emphasis put on developing minisites. It's now proving to be true that Google and other search engines are looking for large content sites.

Affiliate marketing works well for this. The key is to focus each specific webpage around us certain product or targeted keyword phrase.

I like to use Google Adsense on many of my sites. They do a great job of matching advertisers to the theme of the page.

I also like to hyperlink text link phrases back to various affiliate products that relate to that specific webpage. This is a good way to increase your sales and ultimately your bottom line.

Making your Internet business profitable is something that will take time. However, in the long run it's worth the effort!
