Some like the Cohiba (Actually a lot of people like the Cohiba), some like the Fonseca. However, there are three particular brands that are way more popular than the rest of the fine Cuban cigars. The Cohiba, the Montecristo and the Romeo Y Julieta. When you hear of someone smoking a Cohiba, know that they are somebody. The word Cohiba and Cuban cigars simply go hand in hand. Although officially one of the youngest brands in history of Cuban cigars, this brand it self by various mystical stories. Legend has it that when Columbous first discovered the 'New Land' in 1492, the natives brought him some Cohiba leaves stuffed in a pipe like object that they called 'Tobacco'. One of the proven facts is that the Cohiba originally were a secret brand discovered by a local artisan in Cuba and when Castro himself got his first taste, he was so impressed that he hired the guy to make it for him in a secret mansion for almost 14 years.
