Known as Arizona's Beach, Rocky Point has been a favorite destination for North Americans for decades. This happening little town perfectly combines laid back Mexican charm with all the comforts of home. In June, there are plenty of reasons to come and check out Rocky Point. Come for a weekend, but watch out, you may end up having so much fun that you end up staying all month long!

Rocky Point Fun Run June 1st to June 5th rockypointfunrun.com Bikers start your engines and get ready to head down to Puerto Penasco for the 2nd annual Fun Run. This event will feature a Run, a parade, lots of contests, specials and live music. This event is all about fun, but it is also about charity. All proceeds from the event will go to local charities, the Adopt-A-Classroom of Puerto Penasco and the Youth Sports Foundation of Puerto Penasco.

Tent Surf 2011 June 9th to June 12 tentsurf.com This four day, three night event will take place on Sandy Beach in Puerto Penasco, aka Rocky Point. Those who want to caravan should plan on meeting in Phoenix. The caravan leaves at 8 AM on the 9th. The event is free. Bring your tent, surfboard and anything else you think you may need. Day and night time activities are planned, but participants are free to explore at their leisure.

Circus Mexicus XX June 11th 6PM azpeacemakers.com Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers are headed down to Rocky Point for their 20th annual south-of-the-border rock and roll extravaganza, a little party they like to call Circus Mexicus. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. The event kicks off at JJ's Cantina with the Hot Dog and a Smile BBQ, proceeds of which go to support the children at the Esperanza Para Los Niños Orphanage. Other acts include the Hickman-Dalton Gang, Arizona's Tramps and Thieves and Random Karma. Plan on coming early and staying late. Be sure and book your rooms early, since this event is sure to bring in the crowds.

Angler of the Year June 17th to 19th The Angler of the Year contest is a three phased event. The second phase will occur June 17th to the 19th. To find out more information on how to register, contact the events hosts at JJ's Cantina.
