July is one of the slower months for travel to Rocky Point, which means that it's a great time to travel for the bargain hunter. You can make your dollar go farther by traveling to Mexico in July and August. While this is the official "hurricane season", hurricanes are in fact rare and there is a good chance it won't even rain while you are there. Periodic, short-lived afternoon showers are common and keep the land lush, green and blooming, making it one of the more scenic times of the year for the area. Events are ongoing throughout July, as are great specials on hotel stays and activities.

July 2, 2011 - BBQ at Latitude 31

Latitude 31 is one of Rocky Points favorite sports bars and restaurants. Latitude 31 offers beautiful views of the harbor and Sandy Beach from its breezy balconies. Every night of the week movies and sports are shown on big screen TVs, making it a great place to meet up with friends. On July 2, Latitude 31 will be putting on their famous Fourth of July Weekend BBQ. On the menu, BBQ ribs, homemade potato salad, baked beans and corn on the cob. The BBQ will be going on all day, so feel free to stop in anytime.

July 4, 2011 - Fourth of July Celebration

The Fourth of July is a celebrated event in Puerto Peñasco, where a large ex-pat community resides year round. Hotels all over the city will offer special Fourth of July gatherings, including BBQ's and musical performances. You can also have your own celebration on the beach. In Mexico, fireworks, or bombas, are completely legal, and cheap, so you can have your own fireworks celebration.
