The ego of the person being broken up with is almost always bruised because the decision to break up did not come from him. This is especially so if it came out of the blue. The decision to break up might leave a deep impact on your boyfriend. After all, the both of you are in love and have shared many happy memories together. Still, there comes a time when breaking up is inevitable.

If you have made up your mind that breaking up is the best decision, you should go ahead with it. Still, it always makes sense to evaluate your decision first before actually acting on it. However, you do still care about your boyfriend and that is why you hesitate before making your move. Something that you can do would be to make your boyfriend break up with you instead. This way, you get out of the relationship while helping him salvage his pride.

The aim now would be to make your boyfriend think of breaking up with you so that it seems that the decision comes from him instead of you. Yes, there will be some slight manipulation involved. On the other hand, this would be one of the best methods in which you can get your break up without having to voice the thought from your side.

The first step would be to have a chat with him. If you are not the confrontational type, this might make you very nervous. However, rest assured that this is very important. After all, you can make him want to break up with you but you still need to start the ball rolling. It is also essential that you stress to him about the fact that you are really serious about it. He needs to understand that you are firm about your decision.

Then, you should tell him that it would be a good idea to separate for a while. This will give both of you the chance to clear your head. It will also help you make the ultimate decision without having any emotions getting in the way. At least you will know that you are sure about what you want.

Another method to get your boyfriend to break up with you would be by slowly withdrawing from him. This doesn't mean that you should personify the Ice Queen. Instead, you can stop being as openly affectionate as you are used to whenever he is around. Also, slow down on the terms of endearment. This is difficult to do because chances are you do still feel something for your boyfriend. However, this would also give him the best hint as to your true intention.

Being far apart from your boyfriend would also give the both of you the opportunity to re-evaluate your relationship. Something interesting you could do would be to take a year off from work and spend some time in another country. Immerse yourself with volunteer work or get involved in fun activities which are local to the culture of that country. If you are still on amicable terms with your boyfriend, invite him to come along. These new experiences might pave the way for the both of you to come to the realisation that a breakup would be the best thing for your relationship.
