Getting into a relationship is one of the most magical things on earth. However, on the flip side, there is always the chance that the relationship will not last long and you might find yourself facing a break up. Nobody loves breaking up with someone that they previously professed undying love.

Still, it is something that happens and it happens all the time so you might as well get used to the fact. It isn't easy but sometimes it is very necessary.

There are couples who slog through their relationship for years, clinging on stubbornly without wanting to let go even though they aren't happy. As for me, I would take the difficult path by breaking up with my boyfriend as soon as I know that it isn't going to work out. Of course, it is harder said than done and sometimes you do feel that twinge in your heart second guessing what is going on in your head.

For starters, breaking up with your boyfriend should be something personal which is just between the both of you. Allowing a third party to get into the equation will make it extremely difficult. If your boyfriend is close to any member of his family, then it might be a good idea to evaluate your relationship. When I mean close, I mean supernaturally close i.e. there is no way you see your boyfriend without that family member as well. Sometimes it is good because it means that your boyfriend is someone who appreciates close family ties. However, if it gets in the way of your relationship, you just might want to start thinking of saying goodbye.

In your heart, you know that breaking up with your boyfriend because of that would be the best decision ever. After all, being too close to his family member means that he might have some obsessive tendencies. Maybe it just means that he is caring and wants to be close with you. However, imagine if those tendencies are then transferred on to you. For example, your boyfriend constantly wants to know where you are. In fact, you need to tell him every time you are going out and who you are going out with.

You might kid yourself in the beginning that this shows your boyfriend really cares for you and this concern is just very sweet. However, after a while, you will realise that it is not very healthy to have to tell him everything that goes on in your life. After all, a relationship is based on mutual trust and respect. You definitely do not need to give him a daily report of what you are doing all the time. This then would probably give you an inkling of the fact that you want to break up with your boyfriend.

Basically, a healthy relationship is based on balance. Balance between both your relationships with either family members and your relationships with friends. If it has become obsessive or too dependent on any one side, the relationship scale then becomes lopsided and it seems that one party is more into the relationship.

Remember that the balance is the most important part of any relationship. Anything other than that and you might want to consider breaking up with your boyfriend.
