Bad breath is one of the biggest turn-offs. BAD breath was yesterday named as the affliction most likely to wreck a first date. Although it is not contagious, meaning you cannot catch it from someone else.

It is normally related to bad oral hygiene which results in cavities, rotten teeth and most especially the growth of anaerobic bacteria that produces sulfur compounds which in turn produces the rotten egg smell normally associated with bad breath.

If your bad breath is an oral problem then you need pay your dentist a visit. The best way to prevent it is to improve your oral hygiene by brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing daily when possible.

However, if your bad breath is a side effect of a more serious illness, it might be a little more difficult to treat. It is a health problem that can occur in many of us, due to many reasons and has a specific characteristic that causes such a disturbing smell.

It is normally a problem that is shared by millions of people across the country. For the majority of people, the most frequent cause of this is associated with bacteria that live in the mouth, particularly on the tongue.

A simple way to check for this is to cup your hands over your mouth and nose, give a puff as if blowing into a balloon, and then quickly sniff your breath. However, it is still one of those subjects that people just refrain from mentioning.

Symptoms of low intestinal bacteria include bad breath. In adults the unpleasant smell of the mouth is a profound indication that intestinal bacteria levels are impaired.

Remember, bad breath is a problem that needs professional attention. The best way to beat the problem is to visit your dentist regularly and look after your oral hygiene.

Breath malodor that seems exceedingly objectionable at the beginning of testing may seem quite less so as the evaluation continues. Breathing against the mirror, a wall, or any surface and trying to smell your breath yourself is not dependable.

Breath smells may arise from other organs, such as the gastrointestinal tract and lungs, or in metabolic disorders such as diabetes mellitus. How should one deal with bad breath? Lets first talk about what can be causing the "bad breath," or as doctors prefer to call it halitosis.
