Manufacturing and packaging companies are coming to find that PVC film is most likely the most adaptable, printable and quality wrapping medium in use today. There are many different types of wrapping products made from the film to include super shrink, supershrink, center-folded, centerfolded, center folded, PVC, pvc, P.V.C., polyvinyl chloride, plastic shrink film, soft PVC, single wound and tubing.

Manufactures who are looking for the correct wrapping material and the right wrapping product for their products often select this film. In most cases, they will at least need to know the benefits and strengths offered by PVC shrink film, which has the ability to package a great variety of products due to the different types of films people can choose from. This tough, though somewhat pliable, film can be made in the traditional rigid formulation or the newer, more pliable formulation. Various levels of pliability and rigidity meet the needs of various types of products and manufacturers.

The better known, traditional film is probably the film that most manufacturers already have experienced. And to be fair, it has a long and proud history of meeting the needs and specifications of manufacturers representing a wide variety of industries. This smooth, flat, highly reflective film is, as mentioned above, extremely versatile and can do very well in low, medium and high-speed applications.

Traditionally, manufacturers of DVD's, CD's, art materials, frames and candles have all enjoyed working with this film due to its ability to resist both color bleeds and odor leaching. An additional benefit to going with this traditional film is that it does not require high temperatures to be activated, meaning that packagers can use heat guns to activate it. Finally, food and food products are often wrapped within this traditional film because it meets the Food and Drug Administration's compliance standards for being in direct contact with food.

Though not as well known as the stiff, traditional material, the newer, more pliable and softer film is also making its own well-deserved inroads into the packaging market. This softer PVC film contains micro-perforations to protect it from heat-shrink balloon bursts, holes and tearing. Also, having a higher level of pliability means that this softer film has the ability to create strong seals. Finally, this film, like its predecessor, is easy to work with requiring the use of the common and easy to use 110 volt and 220 volt wrapping systems. Manufacturers who have not yet determined which PVC film is best for their products should reach out to the shrink film supplier to get some free samples and some expert guidance.
